BLOG POST 8:Future Literate Me

Personally, in the future I want to be more literate by reading books. I have always had an interest in them and recently I haven't read them enough. I feel as though I always learn so much and a good book always changes the way the see certain things. But I haven't made the time to read. After I read the Fountainhead by Ayn Rand, a literary classic, I had an epiphany about how awesome books were, rediscovering their awesomeness, which was pretty awesome. But seriously after reading several classics of literature like Frankenstein by Mary Shelly, Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky and Heart of Darkness(in school) by Joseph Conrad I have slowly re-realized the importance of reading. So for the future of my literacy I want but also need to read new books.  Literacy classics specifically, provide enormous insight into life. The topics of love and pain and aguish are important topics to think about as a person. When someone reads classics they are able to understand someone's point of view on these topics and in the end formulate their own opinion. To me this is very important and so in the future I feel as though making time to read more classic works of literature. Hopefully that is what future literate me will be like.
